You may experience some discomfort during the treatment, but not significant pain. artists use a numbing cream to eliminate the pain, but you may feel pressure and a scratching sensation
Allergic reactions to pigments are very rare. A patch test is before the procedure eliminates this possibility.
Getting PMU is not safe for you if you:
Are under 18
Are pregnant or nursing
Are undergoing chemotherapy
Have uncontrolled high blood pressure
Have diabetes (consult your doctor, it may be possible)
Have psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, or another skin condition in the area
Have an auto-immune disease (consult your doctor, it may be possible)
Have anemia (pigment may not be retained properly)
Have a history of keloid scarring or hypertrophic scarring
Have a history of cold sores
Take blood-thinning medication
Take Accutane or steroids
Stop using retinol, glycolic and salicylic acid, Vitamin C, or active anti-aging products 4 weeks to the treatment. These thin out your skin and it’ll be over sensitive and bleed.
If you’ve had Botox or fillers in the area, wait at least 4 weeks.
Don’t do any facials at least 2 weeks before the treatment.
Don’t take ibuprofen, aspirin, and fish oil supplements for at least 2 weeks prior to the treatment. These thin out the blood and you’ll bleed more
Don’t go sunbathing or tanning for at least 2 weeks to the treatment.
Don’t pluck or wax your eyebrows at least 1 week prior to the treatment.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hours prior to the treatment. These thin out the blood and you’ll bleed more.
